Today The Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association (TIPPA) had Successful Press meet at the Agartala Press Club. All the executives and the members were present in the Press meet program.

The Association gratefully thanked and appreciated the Tripura Journalist Union for their support and affiliation. The President of the Association of (TIPPA) Mr. Angshu debbarma and Secretary Mr. Ranjit Debbarma both of them highlighted their social indulgement during the lockdown period. They also invited many of the indigenous journalist to take membership of TIPPA and work for the betterment of the Association. And also Present in the Press meet Mr. Manas Debbarma, Asst. Secretary of TIPPA, Mr. Nripendra Debbarma, Vice-President of TIPPA, Mr. Amulya Debbarma, Treasurer of TIPPA and other executive members.

TIPPA, 26th June 2020 :
‘Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association’ (TIPPA) have organised a press meet today at Agartala Press Club. TIPPA is an association consisting of Tripura Indigenous Media workers working in different Electronics Media, Prints, Web, New Media etc. A member of around 50 active persons are currently involved in the association including many TV Channel owners operating in different networks all over the state. On 13th April 2020 ‘Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association’ (TIPPA) started its journey initiating with a program of PPE kit distribution by Hon’ble MP Smt. Pratima Bhowmik in association with Agartala Press Club to our respective members.
The main objective of conducting Press Meet today is that on 24th June 2020 Tripura Journalist Union (TJU) have recognised and approved ‘Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association’ (TIPPA) as their associate branch through a program. TIPPA would like to thank Tripura Journalist Union and their respected members for taking such a good initiative which was very good news for our association. This will increase confidence and betterment to work and bring real news in front of the people with truth.
Alongside this, ‘Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association’ has conducted several programs in the Past:
- Food distribution Relief Camp at two villages namely Manikrai & Bishwaram para under Kulai RS V.C, Ambassa RD block on 26th April 2020. More than 200 families were provided with each 10 Kg Rice, 1kg potato, 400 gm Fermented fish, soap, Green Chilli, Cooking oil etc.
- Rice & Soap distribution Relief camp at 4 villages under Khowai Champahour serving more than 370 families on 1st May 2020.
- Had discussion with Hon’ble MP Shri. Rebati Tripura on the matter of developing TIPPA and to step ahead for the good work for the people in remote areas in the state.
‘Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Press Association’ in the coming days have taken a resolution to meet and discuss on important issues with Hon’ble Deputy CM Shri. Jishnu Debbarman, Hon’ble Revenue minister Shri. N.C. Debbarma and Hon’ble Tribal Welfare Minister Shir. Mevar Kr. Jamatia.
Today evening at 5p.m the Association Executive Body are intending to meet Honorable Chief Minister and place a memorandum enclosed by various demands for the upliftment of indigenous journalist persons.
